Vehicle Rental
updated
05/20/13
The Purchasing Division is
pleased to announce two new contracts for vehicle rental. These new
contracts are in effect as of April 13, 2010 and continue through October 18,
2015. When booking
vehicles a price comparison should be made as pricing has dropped dramatically
for both providers. NOTE: pricing is a base price; additional fees will be
added according to rental location.
When utilizing these
state contracts for out of state travel, you will be required to provide
a vendor account number at the time of reservation. In-state
travel (State Motor Pool overflow) is facilitated by Motor Pool pursuant
to S.A.M. Travel 0200. However, agencies not regulated by S.A.M.
may make reservations directly with the
vehicle rental companies contracted for in-state travel following the
same procedures as out of state travel.
The use of these
contracts is mandatory. When renting a vehicle the driver
does not need to purchase the additional insurance coverage offered by
the vendor, as all insurance needs have been negotiated into the price
of the vehicle, as long as the renter uses the mandatory account number
listed below. Should an employee be involved in an accident
while driving a rental vehicle, after filing a police report and seeking
medical attention, if necessary, the employee should immediately report the
accident to (1) your agency; (2) the Attorney General's
Office; and (3) the Risk Management Division.
These contracts may be
used by The University and Community College System, The Court System,
The Legislative Counsel Bureau and all Political Subdivisions within the
State of Nevada.
For additional information regarding these
contracts please contact
Marcy Troescher at the Purchasing Services Division, or
by phone at (775) 684-0199. For additional information regarding insurance
coverage or requirements please contact Risk Management (775) 687-3188.
All using agencies are requested to share any information and/or
experiences regarding these contracts, using the downloadable form shown
below, as the vendors' performance will be rated in the new statewide
contracts database.
