Excess Property Pick-up Policies and Procedures

Updated 10/04/11

The Excess Property Program is designed to maximize the use of and reallocate various assets within the system.  We DO NOT operate a junkyard and as such our drivers are authorized to pick-up only reallocatable or auctionable property.  The driver, at his discretion may authorize the agency to dispose of items deemed unusable.

Property will be picked up no later than fifteen 15 days (Northern Nevada) and 30 days (Southern Nevada) from the date the Property Disposition Report was received at the warehouse.  Please refer any questions regarding this pick up to Mike Matovina at (775) 684-1839 for the Reno/Carson City area and Scott Stevens at (702) 486-3380 for the Las Vegas area.

To ensure that your property will be picked up the first time our driver stops by your office, please be sure that the following has been completed as soon as you receive this notice:

1.  Please remove all state I.D. tags.

2.  Please centralize all items.

3.  If property can be disassembled, this must be completed by the agency before the driver arrives.  Desks, file cabinets, and shelving units must have all materials cleaned out prior to pick up.

4.  If the driver determines property is too heavy or bulky to be removed alone, or if it is a large pick up, you may be asked to provide some assistance.

5.  Offices moving or need an entire room/building or specialized items removed of property, may be referred to Buildings and Grounds for a contractor to be assigned.

The Driver may have to reschedule your pick up if you fail to comply.
